Dylan Harper addressed the rumors about his relationship with De’Aaron Fox. There were rumors that the starting point guard position caused a rift between Harper and Fox. The allegations appeared after the San Antonio Spurs lost in the NBA Finals to the New York Knicks.

However, Harper denied the rumors about it during his interview with NBA reporter Brandon “Scoop B” Robinson on Tuesday. The former Rutgers star explained his dynamic with the two-time All-Star.

“I mean, I feel like what’s understood doesn’t need to be explained… I don’t have anything bad to ever say about him because, at the end of the day, he’s taught me so much… Me and him have a great relationship where it’s like… he’s kind of my uncle,” Harper told Scoop B.

After fans saw the report, they put most of their attention on what Dylan Harper calls his older teammate. The fact that Fox, 28, was called “uncle” despite being older than Harper, 20, surprised fans.

Harper has no issue with coming off the bench. He has flourished as the Spurs’ sixth man, averaging 11.8 points in his rookie year.

Dylan Harper spent time in the gym this offseason, even after an impressive first year in the NBA. The Spurs guard also made a noticeable impact on the team on their way to the Finals. He averaged 14.1 points in his first playoff run.

He continued to be reliable this summer and focused on honing his skills. He told Scoop B what he focused on developing.
