Draymond Green speaks on KAT's success amid Knicks' 2026 NBA Finals run

· · 1 min read

Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green recently spoke about Knicks big man Karl-Anthony Towns and his impressive postseason play for New York amid their NBA Finals run.

Green revealed that the main difference between Towns’ play this spring and his play in the past is his increased toughness and intensity. “A lot of guys in the league have had a problem with KAT because a lot of guys have felt like he don’t play hard enough, he don’t play tough enough, and he don’t play with the intensity that most people want to see. And I think in watching these playoffs, he’s changed that entirely, and it’s the key to why they’re having the success that they’ve had.”

Most notably, through the first two games of the NBA Finals, Towns’ smothering defense on Spurs center Victor Wembanyama has been a major talking point, as the French star was held to a field goal percentage of 28.6% in Game 1. But it hasn’t been just defense for Towns that’s made him so impressive, as the former Kentucky product is averaging 19.5 points, 12.5 rebounds, four assists and one block in 34 minutes. As Game 3 takes place Monday evening, Towns’ ability to guard Wembanyama will once again dominate conversation.
