Draymond Green explains Kevin Durant’s ‘Uncle Drew’ view on basketball amid Klay Thompson controversy
Houston Rockets star Kevin Durant recently threw shade at his former Golden State Warriors teammate.
LeBron James joining the Philadelphia 76ers has created the NBA’s newest super team with the King joining forces with Joel Embiid, Tyrese Maxey, and Jaylen Brown.
Many are already comparing it to the Golden State Warriors’ super team during the Kevin Durant era. However, the Slim Reaper believes that the current 76ers roster is better than the Dubs’ during their golden era.
During the process, KD seemingly took a shot at Klay Thompson for never being in MVP voting. While Klay clapped back at his former teammate, Draymond Green has now entered the conversation.

On the latest episode of The Draymond Green Show, the Warriors veteran gave fans a clear reason behind Durant’s comments on James joining the 76ers.
The 4x NBA champion used Kyrie Irving’s popular on-screen character ‘Uncle Drew’ to make his point as clear as possible.
“You have to understand the way KD views basketball, the way KD views basketball is very Uncle Drew-ish, this game will and always will be about buckets,” Green said.
He added, “So he’s going to mention the 25-point scorers… He also said the Sixers are better on paper than the 2016-17 Warriors. I don’t know that I can agree with that, I don’t really think it works.”
In simple terms, Green wants to explain that the Xs and Os of basketball do not matter for Durant when rating a team.
Instead, he views the level of a team by how many points a player averages throughout the season. This certainly explains why KD is looking at the current 76ers roster as a better team than his Warriors days.
