Draft class 2024 check-in: 4 Rams no longer on team

40% of the Los Angeles Rams‘ 2024 draft class is no longer with the team:

The Rams made 10 picks total three drafts ago. Braden Fiske is now the top-billed remaining player after the team shipped Verse to the Cleveland Browns in the Myles Garrett trade package. Those who are still on the roster figure to play significant roles in 2026.

Which third-year Rams are in store for potential breakouts?

We know that Verse was drafted as an older player. He took a step back during his sophomore season after taking the NFL by storm as a rookie. It’s rare to see a team move off a former defensive rookie of the year so quickly.

But there remain legitimate questions of how much better Verse could be. Even slight improvements would put him in the upper echelon of the league.

The bottom line is no one can replicate Myles Garrett. The Rams locked in the best overall defensive player in the NFL. That addition should be transformational. Forget waiting for developmental curves that may never come to fruition.

It’s clear that Los Angeles needs more out of Braden Fiske in year three. We also cannot ignore the fact that LA traded an additional second round pick in 2025 in order to move up for Fiske. His impact through two years has not warranted such a steep investment.

But Fiske certainly has the talent and opportunity to take a massive step forward this year. He could easily be a beneficiary of opposing offenses paying additional attention to Garrett and others. Fiske must win one-on-one matchups and become a more consistently disruptive pass rusher.

If he can improve his run defense as well, that’s an added bonus.

I’m not convinced that Kyren Williams is the best running back currently on the roster. Blake Corum was one of the league’s most efficient backs, although efficiency doesn’t always scale well across a larger workload.

The good news for LA is that they can give both opportunities and then ride the hot hand. Corum seems more capable of ripping off explosive runs, and that is an incredible value to an already strong offense.

While the Rams made an out of character investment by re-signing Kamren Curl in free agency, I firmly believe that Kinchens is the best safety on the roster. Safety is a coverage position. Kinchens mans the deep area well. Curl is more of a box player and that skillset is easier to replace.

LA should be glad that Kinchens has two years left on his rookie deal. He should be in line for an extension once the team can move on from Curl.

Jackson will play this season for the Las Vegas Raiders.

While (Poona) Ford and Fiske serve primary functions on the defense, Davis can do it all at a competent level. His 561 snaps were almost divided evenly between run defense and pass rush with a 51% run rate. Davis finished with 19 pressures compared to Ford’s 34 despite having 20% fewer pass rushing opportunities.

Davis is also one of the most sure-handed tacklers on the Rams’ defense. He ranked fourth among all NFL defensive linemen. He missed just 3.7% of his opportunities to bring down ball carriers.

The Rams increased Davis’ playing time by 59% from 2024 to 2025. His usage climbed from 354 snaps to 561, and he earned more looks to rush the passer. As a rookie he was tasked with run defense more often.

While (Poona) Ford and Fiske serve primary functions on the defense, Davis can do it all at a competent level. His 561 snaps were almost divided evenly between run defense and pass rush with a 51% run rate. Davis finished with 19 pressures compared to Ford’s 34 despite having 20% fewer pass rushing opportunities.

Davis is also one of the most sure-handed tacklers on the Rams’ defense. He ranked fourth among all NFL defensive linemen. He missed just 3.7% of his opportunities to bring down ball carriers.

Karty was on the Arizona Cardinals most of the offseason before being released on June 4th. He’s currently a free agent. Harrison Mevis is manning the kicking duties for LA.

No one knows at this point how much playing time is up for grabs at the third receiver spot, considering most expect the Rams to further embrace their usage of heavier personnel sets and additional TE’s. If Puka Nacua misses time or the team decides to run more of its traditional personnel than expected, Whittington could be on the field more often than last year. He’s performed well when given the opportunity.

It’s a great problem to have a player with nearly a full season of starting experience on the bench. We can question how good Limmer is, but you certainly can have worse insurance policies. The Rams’ interior offensive line depth overall has been on the roster for some time. That’s a positive.

Leveston is a member of the Cleveland Browns. He started seven games for them in 2025.
