Dolphins bring back Seth Coleman-Lyles

· · 1 min read

The Miami Dolphins are signing edge rusher Seth Coleman-Lyles, according to a report from the Miami Herald’s Barry Jackson. Coleman-Lyles was waived from the team earlier in the month, but now returns as Miami continues to churn the roster heading into Preseason Week 2.

Coleman-Lyles originally signed with the Dolphins on a futures contract after the 2025 season. He went undrafted out of Illinois in 2025, signing first with the Seattle Seahawks, but was waived in the final roster cuts. He had a brief stint on the Indianapolis Colts’ practice squad during the season but did not make an appearance.

At Illinois, he appeared in 56 games, including 42 starts, recording 183 tackles, 15.5 sacks, 15 passes defensed, two forced fumbles, and two fumble recoveries.

The Dolphins lost to the Washington Commanders last week in a game that exposed a lack of roster depth. After the game, the team made a series of roster moves, including signing defensive tackle Cam Rice. Miami was without defensive linemen Zach Sieler and Kenneth Grant during Monday’s training camp practice.
