Dodgers try to wake up from Wrigley Field nightmares

The Dodgers turn to Tarik Skubal on Tuesday night, looking for something they haven’t gotten a Wrigley Field in a long time — actual run prevention.

The Dodgers have lost five of their last six games at the unfriendly confines in Chicago, dating back to the start of 2024. Monday night’s 10-5 drubbing was more of the norm of late for the Dodgers on the north side of the windy city.

Yoshinobu Yamamoto in 2024 got the lone win in this stretch thanks to eight strikeouts in five scoreless innings nearly two and a half years ago. His start has been the outlier for the Dodgers in their recent visits to Wrigley Field, with the other five starts adding up to 24 runs allowed in 16 2/3 innings.

Skubal over his last six starts has allowed only nine runs, with 50 strikeouts against only six walks in 37 innings. This is his first career start at Wrigley Field.
