The Los Angeles Dodgers placed right-hander Edgardo Henriquez on the 15-day injured list Monday with low back discomfort, ending his 2026 regular season. Los Angeles recalled Bobby Miller from Triple-A Oklahoma City as the corresponding roster move.

Henriquez had developed into a regular bullpen option during his first full major league season, making 61 appearances. MLB.com’s Sonja Chen took to X, formerly Twitter, shortly after the club announced the transaction and noted the calendar implications of Henriquez’s IL placement.

“Henriquez going on the 15-day IL ends his regular season.”

Henriquez last pitched Sunday vs. the Miami Marlins, allowing two earned runs on three hits and one walk over two-thirds of an inning. He also recorded one strikeout and received credit for a hold in Los Angeles’ 6-4 loss.

The 24-year-old right-hander finishes the regular season with a 4-1 record and 2.85 ERA across 61 games, including one start. The right-hander struck out 71 and walked 25 over 60 innings while posting a 1.03 WHIP. His 61 appearances ranked 24th in the National League.

The timing of the move prevents Henriquez from returning before the regular season concludes September 27. A 15-day placement Monday makes him eligible to return September 29, when the Wild Card Series begins. The move does not automatically rule him out for the postseason if he recovers and earns a roster spot.

The Dodgers have not announced an MRI result, structural diagnosis, or surgery related to Henriquez’s back discomfort. His absence removes another pitcher from a Dodgers staff already dealing with multiple injuries, including Shohei Ohtani’s right biceps inflammation.

Miller joins the active roster as Los Angeles continues its four-game road series against the Cincinnati Reds. Henriquez’s regular season is over, but the Dodgers could still have the right-hander available for the postseason depending on his recovery.
