Corbin Carroll is the best triples hitter in baseball.

This time, though, the Arizona Diamondbacks‘ superstar didn’t have to stay stopped at third base.

Instead, the relay throw hit Carroll in his head — which inconveniently had already lost his batting helmet while sprinting around the bases.

So the ball rolled away and Carroll trotted home, his head not feeling very good about it.

It’s what they call a “Little League home run,” where an error leads to a four-base ending:

It’s actually a tough-luck error for the defense. They aren’t planning on the ball deflecting off Carroll’s head.

It’s almost as if it’s a next-level play from Carroll, although clearly this wasn’t intentional.

It just happens to work out very nicely for the Diamondbacks.

Hopefully it didn’t hurt Carroll’s head too badly. He very well may have scored soon after even if this throw didn’t bounce off his noggin.

But it did, and so Carroll got to hustle home with one of the weirder moments he’ll have in the entire 2026 MLB season.
