Democrats to probe Trump family, corporate America, Jeffrey Epstein crimes

Democrats in the United States House of Representatives have listed President Donald Trump’s family as their number one subject of investigation when they take the helm in January.

Rep. Robert Garcia, incoming chair of the House Oversight Committee, laid out his priorities on Wednesday during remarks in Huntington Beach, California.

“The amount of grift and corruption is unprecedented in American politics,” Garcia stated in reference to the Trumps.

“This family is billions richer as the American public struggles,” he said.

The lawmaker cited the President’s involvement in crypto, “where he’s making billions of dollars,” and the $2 billion Jared Kushner (son-in-law) got from Saudi Arabia’s sovereign wealth fund.

Garcia added that Don Jr.’s wedding was paid for by a Russian oligarch, while another of Trump’s sons is on the board of companies that are “getting contracts from the Pentagon.”

The second investigation, the Congressman revealed, is focused on the Department of Homeland Security, DHS, and the “abuses” of the Immigration and Customs Enforcement, ICE.

The third centers on corruption in corporate America, with Garcia decrying how CEOs are making record profits through systems that enable surveillance pricing, resulting in cost variation.

The fourth probe, on Jeffrey Epstein, will look into the “horrific injustice” that happened to numerous women and girls. More than 1,000 victims have come forward as survivors.

Democrats will take control of the House in about two months after stunning — in some cases historic — wins at the 2026 midterm election, gaining about 30 seats.
