Declan Rice poised to commit his future to Arsenal with lucrative contract extension
Arsenal are close to agreeing a new long-term contract with Declan Rice as the club look to secure the futures of their leading names.
Fresh fromagreeing a new long-term contract with manager Mikel Arteta, which was announced on Wednesday, the Gunners are nearing an agreement with Rice.
The 27-year-old’s current contract expires at the end of next season and all parties are working on an extension.
Rice has been a central figure in Arsenal’s progress under Arteta, which culminated inPremier League title success last season, and a first Champions League final appearance since 2006.
According toBBC Sport, the deal for the England midfielder would take him in line with Bukayo Saka as the highest-earner at the Emirates. The contract is believed to be worth around £350,000-a-week.
Rice was named Arsenal Player of the Season in 2024/25 and 2025/26, and has been included in the PFA Team of the Year in three consecutive campaigns. He’s also been shortlisted for the Ballon d’Or in each of the last three years.
For England, he has been appointed vice-captain under Thomas Tuchel and has earned 80 caps, scoring eight times. Rice was part of the England side that finished third at the 2026 World Cup in the summer, the Three Lions’ best-ever finish in an overseas tournament.
Arsenal are also understood to be working on fresh terms with club captain Martin Odegaard.
