‘Deal or total surrender’ — Trump warns Iran

· · 1 min read

US President Donald Trump has accused Iran’s leaders of sending mixed messages over talks, alleging that they privately requested a meeting while publicly denying that negotiations were taking place.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump claimed Iranian officials had sought discussions but later insisted that no talks were underway.

“Iranian Leadership is unbelievably duplicitous! They ask for a meeting, some would say ‘beg,’ talks begin, with more scheduled in the immediate future, and they say, openly and proudly, that they’re not having any discussions, that nothing is being talked about, and they’re only dealing with ‘Oman’,” he wrote.

Trump also rejected Iran’s statements about controlling the Strait of Hormuz, claiming that the United States already has full control of the strategic waterway.

“Nothing gets through to Iran, unless we want it to, and nothing will get through, unless a Deal, or Total Surrender, is accomplished,” he said.

He ended his message by reiterating the US position on Iran’s nuclear programme.

“It is very simple, IRAN WILL NEVER HAVE A NUCLEAR WEAPON!” Trump said.
