Davido joins Adeleke at Osun campaign rally
Afrobeats star Davido joined his uncle, Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, at a campaign rally in Osun State, where the pair danced together on stage before supporters.
Davido arrived in the state on Thursday as campaigns intensified ahead of the August 15 governorship election. He has been actively supporting Governor Adeleke, who is seeking a second term in office.
A video from the rally showed Davido walking through a large crowd with the governor’s son, Sina Adeleke, also known as Shina Rambo. Both later climbed over a barricade to reach the campaign stage, with supporters helping them up.
After getting on stage, Davido hugged his uncle before Governor Adeleke danced to his nephew’s hit song, “Feel”, from the Timeless album. Davido then joined him as the crowd cheered.
The dance became one of the major highlights of the rally, attracting attention from supporters.
Davido has played a significant role in his uncle’s campaign in recent months. In May, he said he would pause his music career for two months to focus on the re-election campaign.
He was later appointed chairman of the Imole Youth Campaign Mobilisation Team and has taken part in several grassroots campaign activities across Osun State.
During an earlier campaign event, Davido told supporters that he believed his uncle had performed well in office and deserved another term.
He has also met with commercial motorcycle and tricycle riders to encourage young people to vote.
Governor Adeleke, who was elected in 2022, is seeking re-election in the August 15 governorship election. Davido’s campaign appearances have continued to attract large crowds, particularly among young supporters.
