Curtis Jones to stay at Liverpool as Inter talks reach impasse
Inter Milan have made no secret of their interest in Liverpool’s Curtis Jones, but numerous sources have reported that Liverpool rejected an offer of €25 million from the Nerazzurri, and that they were even “irritated” by such a low proposal.
And according to Italian outlet Calciomercato, the negotiations between the two clubs have reached an impasse, with the Serie A champions unwilling to go any higher for a player who has only a year left on his contract, while Liverpool refuse to talk about anything under €40 million.
Jones is a product of the Liverpool academy, a player who has fulfilled his dream of winning major silverware with his boyhood club. However, he has never managed to establish himself as a regular starter, not under Jurgen Klopp, and not under Arne Slot. If he stays put, he will try to use the final year of the contract to impress Andoni Iraola and perhaps sign an extension – or leave as a free agent at the end of next summer.
