Playing his first game for Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia after the Portugal fiasco, Cristiano Ronaldo’s troublesome 1000 goals journeyCristiano Ronaldo‘s woeful run seems to continue. Ronaldo missed a penalty in his first match since his Portugal suspension, as Al-Nassr managed to beat Saudi Pro League rivals Neom 1-0.
Ronaldo received a chance to give this team the advantage but missed the chance when he fired his spot-kick wide in first-half stoppage time after Neom defender Mohammed Al Dossary had brought down João Félix in the box. However, Ronaldo missed the penalty kick by miles.
Once regarded as one of the penalty takers of the modern era, it now seems Ronaldo’s age is catching up to him. Joao Félix, Ronaldo’s Portugal and Al-Nassr teammate, struck the winner just after the hour mark when he fired home from the edge of the area.

Earlier, Ronaldo was suspended for 30 days and fined €255 ($285.90) after walking out on his national team earlier this month during the UEFA Nations League, following a misunderstanding with his team and manager. If the suspension dates back to the time of the provisional decision, he will be able to participate in his country’s next game versus Denmark on Nov. 14, 2026.
Struggling to reach the legendary 1000-goal landmark, Ronaldo recently also found himself the subject of former Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag’s frustrating comments. “He let the team down, and he let me down too, because we were planning for the season with him in it,” Ten Hag said. However, despite the controversial statements, Ronaldo has not yet officially commented on them.
