Cowboys’ Jerry Jones Speaks Out About Micah Parsons Before Week 6 Showdown

· · 2 min read

The Dallas Cowboys are set to take on the Green Bay Packers in a tough road matchup on Sunday Night Football in Week 6 NFL action. Of course, the storylines connecting the team, Jerry Jones, and Micah Parsons have already come up.

Unfortunately for the Packers, Parsons is not expected to play this week. He has yet to be activated for practice as he continues recovering from a torn ACL and meniscus injury suffered last year against the Denver Broncos. Despite his playing status, the storylines are out there.

Parsons spent the first four years of his career with the Cowboys. He racked up 256 total tackles, 52.5 sacks, nine forced fumbles, four fumble recoveries, and nine defended passes during those years.

Last season in his first year with Green Bay, Parsons made the Packers happy they traded two first-round picks and Kenny Clark for him before the injury. He played in 14 games, racking up 41 tackles, 12.5 sacks, two forced fumbles, and a defended pass.

Ahead of Sunday night’s showdown, Jones took some time to speak out about Parsons and the trade he made to ship him to Green Bay.

Cowboys ‘ Jerry Jones Speaks Out Again About Micah Parsons

As shared by The Athletic’s Jon Machota in a post on X, Jones shared his most recent thoughts about the Parsons move. He clearly still stands by the decision to move on from Parsons.

“We did not underestimate (Micah Parsons’) ability. It was reinforced when Green Bay gave us all the picks that we got,” Jones said.

“We’re on plan with how we’re using those picks. We want to have that show up in success with wins on the field. But nothing about that has surprised me at all. And we wish Micah the best.”

Heading into this week’s game, Dallas badly needs a win. After losing to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last week, the Cowboys hold a 2-3 record. The Packers, on the other hand, are riding high after a 31-7 blowout win over the Chicago Bears.

Hopefully, Parsons will be able to make his return to the field in the near future. In the meantime, the Cowboys are hoping to get their season back on track with a big-time win in primetime.
