Nobody can really say that the Dallas Cowboys don’t have a strong offense. Just look at the guys they have heading it up. Quarterback Dak Prescott and wide receivers CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens are absolutely dynamic on the field.

So, they don’t really have an offense problem, as a whole. But the team could improve on one part of their offense to really boost them this season.

It’s no doubt that Jerry Jones and company would love to see this team finally get back to the playoffs.

Tyler Guyton could give the Cowboys’ offense a boost

On Friday, Ben Solak of ESPN unleashed a feature with the X-factor for each NFL team going into the new season. For the Cowboys, he calls left tackle Tyler Guyton that guy.

“The Cowboys entered training camp with a competition at left tackle between Guyton and Nate Thomas, a 2024 seventh-rounder who had impressed in Guyton’s absence last season,” he notes in the piece. “Guyton didn’t just win that competition — he won it so fast that the Cowboys stopped splitting reps only a few days into camp and eventually traded Thomas to the Texans on cut-down day.”

That says a lot. It also says a lot that Guyton ranks “third among tackles in penalties per game,” per Solak. He’s had injuries, but when he’s playing, he’s fantastic.

“A leap from Guyton would benefit the entire offensive line,” he adds, also noting that if “Guyton can settle into consistent play against quality edges, the Cowboys can spend more resources helping Steele — or even get five out into the concept, which is where top-flight processor Dak Prescott is at his best.”

So, if Guyton plays really well, he could help solve the Cowboys’ biggest concern, which is protecting Prescott and finally finding real consistency for the tackle position.

The Cowboys already have a strong offense. Guyton could make it unbeatable.
