Cornelius Tøndel to fill in for Chase Sexton

Monster Energy Kawasaki announced Norwegian rider Cornelius Tøndel will serve as the fill-in rider for Chase Sexton for the remainder of the 2026 Pro Motocross season, Sexton “recovers from ACL surgery and turns his focus towards the 2027 season.”

Tøndel has been racing with the International Supercross Race Team (ISRT) during the outdoor season and has scored two top-15 overall finishes in five rounds. His best moto finish was 12th at High Point Raceway, but he failed to finish the second moto there and was scored 19th overall.

While consistently challenging for top-15s, racing on a Factory Kawasaki will give Tøndel the opportunity to score his first SMX top-10.

He is currently 31st in combined SMX points with an 85-point deficit to 20th in the standings.
