Colts GM Chris Ballard on Keenan Allen: Give him some grace
Wide receiver Keenan Allen remains a member of the Colts after being arrested for operating a vehicle while intoxicated over the weekend and it doesn’t appear that’s going to change in the coming days.
General Manager Chris Ballard said at a Tuesday press conference that Allen will be in the team’s lineup for their Week 1 game against the Ravens. He also said Allen’s history in the NFL shows no sign of this being an issue that changes how the team feels about him.
“I’m not going to comment on what happened,” Ballard said. “What I’m gonna tell you is good people make mistakes. He’s a tremendous human being, give him some grace and he’ll work through the process of the legal system.”
Ballard said that any discipline from the team will be handled in-house. Allen will also be subject to league discipline under the Personal Conduct Policy.
