The debate over who is the greatest basketball player of all time between LeBron and Jordan has raged on for almost two decades.

“Michael Jordan played for nine years and said, ‘I need a break, it’s too much. Michael Jordan famously hides in his hotel room. Nine years. Plays baseball. This is overwhelming.’

“MJ, after nine years, ‘I’m out. I’m going to hit some baseballs.’ 24 years in a row, ‘bring it on, I’m here.’ He’s going to drive reportedly $450 million of business into the Philadelphia economy. Who needs a data center? Acquire LeBron!”

LeBron James has earned GOAT consideration off longevity alone

While LeBron James has earned several accolades and delivered countless moments that have convinced people that he is the greatest of all time, it is his longevity that strengthens his resume beyond anything else.

Even though James is a four-time NBA champion, four-time Finals MVP, four-time MVP, and the NBA’s all-time leading scorer, it is his ability to play at the highest level across his 23-year career that has made him one of the absolute best of all time.

Of course, this longevity has allowed James to rack up these accolades over the years, thus strengthening his resume over the years.

No matter which player between him and Jordan you prefer, no one can deny that no player has played as well for as long as LeBron James.
