Cole Custer's race recap in the Chase race at Kansas in 2026

Cole Custer finished 30th Sunday at Kansas Speedway after starting 29th. The Haas Factory Team driver remained around the rear quarter of the field for much of the Hollywood Casino 400.

Custer avoided the mechanical failure and multicar crash that affected others but never found the speed necessary to move his No. 41 Chevrolet meaningfully forward. He completed 266 laps and finished one lap behind Kyle Larson.

The 30th-place result earned Custer seven points. He is not competing in the Chase, meaning those points affect only his overall season standing. Kansas was ultimately a difficult but clean afternoon for the No. 41 team, with Custer finishing one position worse than where he started while completing nearly the entire race distance.
