Chicago Sky star DiJonai Carrington has made headlines over the last few days because of her reaction to being ejected for a hard foul against Indiana Fever’s Sophie Cunningham.

While Carrington has been heavily criticized on social media for her ‘white privilege’ comments, the WNBA hasn’t issued any punishment to the Sky Star.

The league’s silence became even more apparent during the Sky’s recent game against the Seattle Storm, where Carrington played without any consequences.

Clay Travis thinks WNBA would have heavily punished Sophie Cunningham if the roles were reversed

OutKick founder Clay Travis was stunned to see Carrington check-in during the Sky vs. Storm game without facing any punishment from the WNBA over her ‘white privilege’ comments.

As a result, Travis made fans think about what the W would have done to Cunningham if she had made such comments after hypothetically being ejected for a hard foul on Carrington.

“If Sophie Cunningham had Tweeted ‘black privilege’ after getting kicked out of a game for a flagrant foul on a black player, she would have been suspended for the season; her career might have been over.

“Carrington tweets ‘white privilege’ & nothing happens to her. Broken league,” Travis wrote in disappointment on X.

While this is a hypothetical scenario, fans expect the WNBA to remain unbiased in such controversial moments.

Keeping that in mind, the fair treatment would have been to punish Carrington for her reaction. Otherwise, it sets the wrong example for the rest of the W stars.
