Chiefs highlight rookie pass-rusher's 'aura' at training camp practice

The Kansas City Chiefs‘ 2026 rookie class has been hard at work on the campus of Missouri Western State University in St. Joseph as the team conducts its first training camp practices.

First-round pick Peter Woods — a former Clemson Tigers pass-rusher who is set to play a key role in Kansas City’s defense during the upcoming season — was spotted running drills with his teammates in a video that was shared to the Chiefs’ official social media channels.

While the slow-motion clip didn’t actually show Woods in action, his presence at practice is a welcome sign as Kansas City looks to reinvent its front four in 2026.

Expected to play as a defensive tackle, Woods will pair with veteran sack-master Chris Jones to generate push against the middle of opposing offensive lines and should have no problem earning snaps as a starter for coordinator Steve Spagnuolo early in the regular season.
