Chiefs-Dolphins weather: Is powerful nor'easter affecting Miami today?

The Kansas City Chiefs will play their first road game of the 2026 NFL regular season against the Miami Dolphins this afternoon, while a massive nor’easter batters the East Coast of the United States.

Nor’easters are extratropical cyclones that form in the western North Atlantic Ocean — most often off the coast of Massachusetts or North Carolina.

While Miami is located on the East Coast, it is not being affected by the nor’easter, which is currently situated several hundred miles North around Washington, D.C., New York, and Boston.
