Chelsea to continue Alex Scott pursuit

Chelsea remain determined to sign Bournemouth midfielder Alex Scott despite seeing multiple approaches rejected during the summer transfer window, according to Teamtalk.

The report claims that the Blues view Scott as their primary midfield target and believe he is the ideal fit for Xabi Alonso’s long-term plans at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea reportedly submitted an offer worth more than £60 million during the summer, but Bournemouth made it clear that the 23-year-old was not for sale.

Chelsea’s interest intensified following Enzo Fernandez’s departure to Manchester City. The club explored alternative midfield targets, including Monaco’s Lamine Camara, but ultimately failed to secure a deal before the transfer deadline.

However, Chelsea have not given up on Scott and are now considering a different approach. Rather than waiting until next summer, the Blues could attempt to negotiate an agreement in advance that would allow them to secure the midfielder now before he officially moves to west London in 2027.

Scott’s contract runs until 2028, but he has reportedly rejected several offers to extend his stay at Bournemouth. Chelsea believe that uncertainty could eventually create an opportunity to land one of their top transfer targets.
