Chelsea remain interested in a potential swop for Lucas Da Cunha

Chelsea continue to monitor the progress of Como star Lucas De Cunha and are weighing up a potential swoop when the transfer window reopens, according to a report from TEAMtalk.

While the Blues might have completed a major midfield overhaul at Stamford Bridge over the summer, it appears that the west London hierarchy are still actively looking to add further reinforcements.

Handed a call-up to France’s squad this month, Da Cunha has blossomed into one of Europe’s hottest midfield commodities and the 25-year-old is reportedly attracting plenty of heavyweight interest from across the continent.

Playing a leading role in the Biancoblu’s remarkable rise to Champions League football, the one-time Nice youngster has also received a string of public praise from Como boss Cesc Fabregas.

Featuring in Zinedine Zidane’s maiden France squad, TEAMtalk’s report suggests that fellow Premier League clubs such as Liverpool, Nottingham Forest and Bournemouth have also registered their own respective interest.

However, while Da Cunha might have plenty of Premier League clubs chasing his signature, the new French international only put pen to paper with the Lombardy-based outfit over the summer. Fabregas’ high-flying side announced back in July that their skipper had officially signed a new contract that is set to run until 2031.

However, despite only further pledging his future to the potential Italian title contenders a few months ago, TEAMtalk are suggesting that Chelsea remain in contention and are keeping close tabs on proceedings.
