Charleroi’s Ivorian star set for Saudi Arabia move with Al-Taawoun

· · 1 min read

Charleroi’s star winger Parfait Guiagon is set for a move to Saudi Arabia. According to HLN the Ivorian winger, who has wanted to leave all summer, is set to sign a deal for the next three seasons. Charleroi will receive a fee in the region of €5m for the winger who was one of their key players last season. That means this summer Charleroi have lost two key players, with Yacine Titraoi having joined Lens in Ligue 1 for a fee in the region of €8m.

Guiagon joined Charleroi back in the summer of 2023 from Maccabi Tel Aviv. He has gone on to play 109 games for the Zebras, scoring 26 goals and providing 16 assists. Last season was the best of his career so far, with the 25-year-old scoring 12 goals in 40 games and providing five assists. Guiagon did have a contract with Charleroi until 2028 but the side have had to sell him, with the winger and the clubs management having had very clear disagreements about him leaving this summer. As a result, while Charleroi have won their opening three games, Guiagon has only played in the opener, scoring a penalty as the side won 3-1 at home to OH Leuven.
