UEFA has handed down bans to Fenerbache’s duo of Matteo Guendouzi and Mason Greenwood.

This follows the ugly scenes after the Champions League play-off second between the Turkish giants and Lyon.

Guendouzi’s provocative behaviour toward the home fans and opposition players, was cited as the catalyst for the mass brawl that followed the final whistle.

The France midfielder has been fined €50,000 and handed a four-match suspension from UEFA club competitions, though two of those games are suspended for a one-year probationary period.

This means Guendouzi will miss Fenerbahce’s first two Champions League fixtures against Roma and Aston Villa.

Greenwood was also sanctioned for his role in the fracas, receiving a one-match ban and a €30,000 fine.

Fenerbahce was fined €30,000 for lighting and throwing of fireworks, €15,000 for crowd disturbances, and €50,000 for the violation by its team of the general and fundamental rules of conduct.
