Chaires Little League World Series regionals start time, TV channel vs Alabama

· · 3 min read

The Chaires-Capitola All-Stars have continued Florida’s recent run of stellar play at the Little League World Series regional tournament. A win today against Phenix City, Alabama, will put the Tallahassee team into the Southeast region’s championship game.

Chaires Little League started its run by breaking out the fireworks in a four-inning 16-1 victory over Columbus, Georgia. “The Green Machine” followed that up with an 8-1 win against Irmo, South Carolina, the team that beat Lake Mary last year to earn a spot in Williamsport, Pennsylvania.

Florida earned a day’s rest after improving to 2-0 in Warner Robins, Georgia, while Alabama put forth an impressive 5-2 victory against fellow regional regular Nolensville, Tennessee. There’s a good chance Chaires will face pitcher Kinley Rasmus, one of the few girls playing in LLWS regionals across the country. She pitched two innings in Phenix City’s opening win, allowing a hit and a walk while striking out four.

She’d face a potent offense that’s scored more runs over two games than any other in the Southeast regional. Camden Arnold enters the day 3 for 4 with five RBIs, while Chaires’ top four hitters (Xavier Schenck, Kai Stephens, Landon Del Prado and Harry Pawelczyk) have tallied at least three runs apiece.
