Carragher names best defensive team in world football

Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has named Arsenal as the best defensive team in the world at the moment.

Carragher stated this on Sky Sports’ Monday Night Football following Arsenal’s 1-0 victory against Liverpool at the weekend.

“This Arsenal team is not only the best defensive team in the Premier League, I think they are now the best defensive team in world football,” Carragher said.

Arsenal boasts the Premier League’s best defensive record so far this season, having conceded just five goals in nine matches.

The Gunners sit at the top of the Premier League table after beating Liverpool at Anfield, three points ahead of second-placed Manchester City.

In the UEFA Champions League, Mikel Arteta’s side have conceded just two goals so far ahead of their next match with Slavia Praha on Wednesday.
