Carolina Offseason Tidbits: Volume 6 – Prospect Showcase Comes to Raleigh

The long hot summer continues on and the Carolina Hurricanes continue to celebrate their world championship with their individual “Day with the Cup”. Recently the Cup was in Minnesota.

In other news, the Hurricanes announced that they will be hosting this year’s “Prospect Showcase” at Invisalign Arena from September 13-15. Carolina, Nashville, and Tampa Bay will be participating. This will be a good chance to see many of the top prospects for each franchise.

The game times have been released but more specific information will be released later.

Speaking of season ticket members, apparently season ticket packages are sold out. Ahhh, the consequences of winning the Stanley Cup. This is from a release from the Hurricanes:

CANES SEASON TICKET PLANS SOLD OUT FOR 2026-27

Individual game tickets on sale Aug. 20

RALEIGH, NC – Sara Daniel, Chief Ticketing Officer for the National Hockey League’s Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that the team has sold out of season ticket plans for the 2026-27 regular season. The Hurricanes have reserved a limited number of seats to be sold on an individual game basis, and those tickets will go on sale August 20.  

The team allocates inventory to three different levels of season ticket plans – full-season plans, half-season plans and quarter-season plans. Following the seat selections that conclude at the end of this week, all three levels have officially sold out. Fans interested in joining a waitlist to access plans when they become available in the future can sign up at Hurricanes.com/waitlist.

Last but not least, the Canes still need to wrap up the Alexander Nikishin situation. It seems by many that a bridge deal seems most likely, but Carolina’s front office has been silent on the subject. It also takes two parties to agree to a bridge deal.

Reportedly, Nikishin was asked about him asking for $8 million a year and he smiled and replied “more”.

If the defenseman does not sign some type of a new contract, then back to Russia he goes. While that seems unlikely, who knows?
