Canelo Alvarez vs. Christian M’billi: ‘Mexico vs. the World’ card, odds

Saúl “Canelo” Álvarez is set to make his return to the ring, where he will challenge undefeated WBC super middleweight champion Christian Mbilli in a blockbuster event aptly named ‘Mexico vs. The World’ on Oct. 31.

This bout marks Álvarez’s (63-3-2) first appearance since his loss to Terence Crawford in Sept. 2025, where he was defeated by unanimous decision. Prior to that, Alvarez’s only other recent setback came in 2022 against Dmitri Bivol, also by unanimous decision, costing him a chance at the WBA light heavyweight title.

Mbilli (29-0-1, 24 KOs) captured the WBC interim super middleweight title with a win over Maciej Sulecki in June 2025. He successfully defended his belt three months later, edging out Lester Martinez in a split decision.

In January 2026, Mbilli was elevated to full WBC champion after Crawford was stripped of the title, and now faces the biggest test of his career against Álvarez.
