Caitlin Clark sets historic WNBA, NBA assists milestone

After picking up her 30th career double-double with 29 points and 10 assists in Indiana’s 98–87 Friday night win over Dallas, Caitlin Clark set yet another impressive statistical milestone.

Clark became the fastest player in WNBA history to reach 700 career assists, accomplishing the statistical milestone in just 83 career games. Clark also reached 700 career assists faster than any NBA player in the last 30 years.

Additionally, Clark recorded her 20th career game with 20 or more points and 10-plus assists. Clark’s 20 such games are 10 more than any other player in the history of the WNBA. It was Clark’s 11th double-double this season and her third straight points-assists double-double.

Clark crossed off a scoring milestone in the win, too. With her 29 points, Clark moved past Candice Dupree (1,621) for the ninth-most points in franchise history. Clark has now scored 1,640 points in her career.

Clark and Indiana will look to extend their three-game winning streak when they begin their longest road trip of the season on Sunday afternoon against the Atlanta Dream from State Farm Arena. The Fever and Dream tip off at 4 p.m. CT in a game that will be nationally broadcast on ESPN.
