Caitlin Clark name-drops LeBron James and Stephen Curry while talking about her interest in golf
Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark discussed golf at a recent event where she was unveiled as Dick’s Sporting Goods‘ first-ever brand partner.
Clark signed a multi-year deal with Dick’s Sporting Goods and Foot Locker on November 4, 2026, marking the first time either brand has signed an individual athlete, man or woman, as a partner.
While at an event with her new partners, Clark was asked questions about her budding interest in golf, which naturally led to a comment about the NBA’s leading golf enthusiasts, LeBron James and Stephen Curry.
Caitlin Clark wants to get on the golf course with LeBron James and Steph Curry
Clark was asked who the three people she would want to get onto the course for a game with. While her first name referred to someone named Ed in the room, her next two choices involved arguably the two best basketball players of the last 20 years.
“LeBron’s been golfing a lot. We’ll go LeBron, and then maybe Steph Curry too.”
LeBron’s fondness for golf is well-known, as the 41-year-old has made multiple videos and social media posts about playing the game, including multiple YouTube videos over the summer detailing his deep interest and love for the sport.
Curry is considered one of the best golfers in the NBA, competing in pro-am tournaments over the summer and performing at a very competitive level. While Curry’s love for the game isn’t on display on social media like LeBron’s, Curry is known to be one of the best at the sport.
Clark’s skill level is hard to judge, but the trio would definitely have an amazing time on the course together. With golf allowing lower-skill players to play against players with a score handicap, this would be a fun contest to watch.
It seems James and Curry will focus on their love of golf almost instantly after retiring from the NBA at 41 years and 39 years old respectively, but the 24-year-old Clark is just starting her WNBA career and hopes to dominate at the highest level over her career like James and Curry did in the NBA.
