Caitlin Clark gives NSFW response to tech in Fever-Mercury brouhaha

The animus was real at Gainbridge Fieldhouse on Monday night as a big brouhaha broke out between the Indiana Fever and Phoenix Mercury.

Multiple players got assessed technical fouls and one player, Fever forward Myisha Hines-Allen, got two techs and was ejected after an initial dust-up between guard Caitlin Clark and forward DeWanna Bonner sparked the tension.

Of course, Bonner’s abrupt exit from the Fever last season clearly left some lingering frustrations for Indiana that showed up during Monday night’s game. Clark’s technical foul came as a surprise to her after the incident, one apparently called for the Fever superstar clapping aggressively during the altercation.

Her reaction? Very NSFW; some language to follow.

Look, during that big of a shouting match between two teams, techs are going to come flying in from the refs. Clark was at the center of it, so it’s no big shock she got a tech… however, if it really was just for clapping… that’s not it.

Clark indicated after the game she was told it was indeed for “clapping and instigating”… and we wouldn’t be shocked if the league rescinded this one, like it did with Paige Bueckers recently over clapping.
