CAF Champions League: Rivers United depart for Cote d’Ivoire ahead San Pedro clash

Rivers United have departed Nigeria for Cote d’Ivoire ahead of the CAF Champions League first preliminary round first leg clash against San Pedro.

The Pride of Rivers travelled through the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Stadium, Abuja on Tuesday (today).

They will square up with San Pedro in the first leg at the Stade Laurent Pokou in San-Pédro.

The return leg is scheduled for next week in Abeokuta.

The encounter marks a crucial milestone for the Port Harcourt-based club in their continental campaign.

Rivers United technical adviser, Finidi George, is aware of the challenges ahead having reflected on their previous exit from the competition against Egyptian side, Pyramids FC.
