Burnley interested in Nice centre-back Kojo Peprah Oppong
EFL Championship side Burnley FC is interested in Nice centre-back Kojo Peprah Oppong (22), according to L’Equipe. The 22-year-old defender only joined the INEOS-owned Ligue 1 club last summer. Kojo Peprah Oppong notably profited from several injuries at the back to become a mainstay last season. He made 40 starts for Les Aiglons and went on to take part in Ghana’s 2026 World Cup run.
Nice intend to keep their 22-year-old, but they must free up €70m worth of funds – in player sales and wages – until the end of the summer transfer window. Oppong’s worth has skyrocketed after joining Nice for less than €3m. L’Equipe adds that his worth might have tripled. The outlet understands that Trabzonspor and an unnamed Ligue 1 side could rival Burnley in the race to sign Oppong.
