Burna Boy names two current best young players

Grammy-winning Nigerian singer Damini Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy, has named Manchester United midfielder Kobbie Mainoo as the current best young player in football, behind only Barcelona winger Lamine Yamal.

Mainoo is 21 years of age, while Yamal is 19 years old. Both players were part of England and Spain’s World Cup 2026 squad.

Mainoo did not played any single minute for England at the World Cup, Yamal featured for Spain as they won the tournament after beating Argentina in the final.

Speaking about the current best young player, Burna Boy said (as per ESPN via Utd Truthful), “Best young player right now?

“Lamine Yamal, but just cause of Man United, I will throw in Kobbie Mainoo.

“Best club? Manchester United. Best United player? Kobbie Mainoo.”
