Bundesliga Team of the Week – Matchday 4

With Matchday 4 of the 2026/27 Bundesliga season in the books, Bulinews Editor-in-Chief Rune Gjerulff has selected his Team of the Week.

Goalkeeper:

Finn Dahmen, Augsburg

Augsburg conceded three goals against Werder Bremen, but it could have been a lot worse if it weren’t for Dahmen, who made an impressive seven saves during the game.

Defenders:

Laurin Curda, Paderborn

The hard-working wing-back worked tirelessly up and down the right-hand flank, providing an assist and completing two dribbles while winning seven duels.

Nicolas Capaldo, Hamburger SV

Aggressive as always at the back, Capaldo won five duels and also scored a vital opener at the other end to help his side to a 2-1 win over 1. FC Köln.

Hasan Kurucay, Schalke 04

A rock-solid performance from the centre-back, who played a key role in Schalke’s clean sheet by winning 11 duels. He was also solid in possession, completing 93 percent of his passes.

Miguel Gutierrez, Bayer Leverkusen

The left-back was directly involved in both of Leverkusen’s goals against RB Leipzig, scoring one and assisting the other, while also winning five duels.

Midfielders:

Santiago Castaneda, Paderborn

Won an impressive eight of nine duels in Paderborn’s 3-1 win over Hoffenheim and capped his performance with a goal.

Michael Olise, FC Bayern

Opened the scoring for Bayern with a wonderful strike and also provided an assist, while making a total of four key passes.

Jamal Musiala, FC Bayern

Opened the scoring for Bayern with a wonderful hit and also provided an assist, while making a total of four key passes.

Marco Grüll, Werder Bremen

One of the standout performers in Werder Bremen’s 3-2 comeback victory over Augsburg, Grüll scored and provided three key passes, including an assist.
