Buffalo Bills Week 3 inactives vs. Los Angeles Chargers

· · 3 min read

The Buffalo Bills listed one player out and four players questionable this week for their matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers. While that isn’t ideal, their injury report is much cleaner than their opponents, as the Chargers ruled out six players ahead of this one.

Buffalo seeks a 3-0 start under first-year head coach Joe Brady. Los Angeles is looking to avoid an 0-3 start under second-year head coach Jim Harbaugh. For the Chargers, this is as close to a must-win game as one can have in September, and while the stakes are lower for Buffalo, the Bills can ill afford to drop home games early in the season if they plan to go as deep into the playoffs as they’re capable.

Who’s in and who’s out for this big AFC matchup? Here are the inactive players for both teams.

WR Skyler Bell

With both DJ Moore and Keon Coleman dealing with injuries—a shoulder for Moore and an ankle for Coleman—it looked as if the rookie wideout would make his NFL regular-season debut today. Alas, both Moore and Coleman are active, so Bell is a healthy scratch again this week. Greg Dortch, signed to the active roster from the practice squad, is the fifth wideout once again, as he fills a vital role on special teams returning both kickoffs and punts.

G Ar’Maj Reed-Adams

The rookie is a healthy-ish scratch this week, as he appeared on the injury report with an elbow issue that he suffered in practice. Reed-Adams has been a healthy scratch in each of the first two games.

T/G Jude Bowry

The rookie fourth-round selection is a healthy scratch once again, as the Bills will roll with their usual eight on the offensive line.

DL T.J. Sanders

After missing the first two games thanks to a knee injury, Sanders had an appendectomy last week, which will cause him to miss today’s contest. Buffalo did not elevate a defensive lineman from the practice squad, which was a positive sign for Ed Oliver’s availability, and it’s now confirmed that Oliver will return today after missing last week’s win over the Detroit Lions with a hip injury.

OLB Mike Danna

The veteran is a healthy scratch once again, as it appears likely that he’ll only dress for a game in the event of an injury to another edge rusher.

S Jalen Kilgore

With second-year man Jordan Hancock going on injured reserve thanks to a hamstring issue, I thought that Kilgore would make his NFL debut today. However, the Bills elevated Te’Cory Couch from the practice squad, and they’ll go with the veteran and his coverage ability in the slot over Kilgore and his athleticism as a big nickel/safety.

Here are the inactives for Los Angeles. PRior to the game, the Chargers ruled out guard Kayode Awosika, tight end Charlie Kolar, cornerback Elijah Molden, offensive lineman Trey Pipkins III, wideout Brennan Thompson, and defensive end Dalvin Tomlinson. They placed Pipkins III on injured reserve yesterday, though, so he no longer counts towards their inactive players. The full list for today’s game is below.

Once Los Angeles posts their inactive players, we will update this article.
