Bruce Buffer calls out 'disrespectful' Josh Hokit: 'Show some class'

Bruce Buffer is not a fan of Josh Hokit’s persona.

The outspoken heavyweight has made numerous controversial statements and does not hold back when it comes to his opinions. However, Hokit (10-0 MMA 4-0 UFC) has certainly proven his worth in the octagon by outlasting Curtis Blaydes in arguably the best fight of the year, as well as knocking out Derrick Lewis in the first round at UFC Freedom 250.

That earned Hokit a title shot against Ciryl Gane (14-2 MMA, 11-2 UFC) in the UFC 334 main event on Nov. 14 at Madison Square Garden in New York. Despite disagreeing with the budding star’s antics, that won’t stop Buffer from roaring his name enthusiastically come fight night.

“You have a guy like Josh Hokit, the heavyweight. He can fight, but I don’t like what he talks about,” Buffer told N3on (h/t Full Mount MMA). “I think he’s disrespectful, and I’m sorry, Josh, if you’re watching: It’s just the way it is. But this is his thing. It’s his game. It’s not my style. It’s like, show some class. That’s just the way I am.

“The things he said at the White House, I’m sorry – I didn’t appreciate that. Not to put Josh down, but when I introduce him, you step into that octagon, man or woman, you’re putting your blood, sweat and life on the line, all the tears on the floor. I’m there to enhance that moment for you, I give you my all.”

Hokit responded to Buffer by insisting that he’s not the worst example out there.

“I talk trash in the Octagon, but guys on this roster have actual criminal records and rape charges. I have no criminal record, yet I’m not classy enough? 😂You realize we are in the gladiator business, right? Should men who try to kill other men, really be your role model? lol.”
