Browns WR Jerry Jeudy ‘fits the bill’ as a trade target for a top team

· · 2 min read

The NFL trade deadline is not until November 10th this year, leaving a lot of time and games on the schedule for rumors to come and go. Some rumors will occur, like QB Shedeur Sanders yesterday, for oddly specific reasons. Others, like those we’ve covered with WR Jerry Jeudy, DE Khalil Mack, and DE/OLB Josh Sweat, will occur due to team and player performance.

Given how well rookie WRs KC Concepcion and Denzel Boston have looked and played, Jeudy’s future in Cleveland seems tenuous at best. The veteran has been a good influence on the younger players but only has one more year on his contract and isn’t being used regularly by the Browns.

According to our Kansas City Chiefs site, Jeudy “most fits the bill for a Chiefs midseason trade” as the team continues to deal with injuries while being undefeated through five weeks:

If Kansas City can send a Day 3 pick for the 27-year-old wideout, it could be a strong option to replenish the Chiefs’ playmaking for this season and the future without taking a huge risk. He is signed through the 2027 season, with a $13.4 million cap hit next year.

Arrowhead Pride noted that former Cleveland wide receiver coach Chad O’Shea is now in the same role in Kansas City. That familiarity could help not only lead to a trade, but help Jeudy get adjusted to a new offense quickly.

The Browns and Chiefs are familiar with working deals together, as the two teams combined on a deal near the top of the 2026 NFL draft, allowing Kansas City to move up a few spots to select CB Mansoor Delane.

Getting a high Day 3 pick, opening up more snaps for the young players, and saving some salary cap space would be helpful for Cleveland, while the Chiefs would get another veteran receiver that QB Patrick Mahomes and HC Andy Reid could try to make the most of as they push toward another deep playoff run.

Do you think Jerry Jeudy gets traded? If so, how much do you think the Browns get in return and which team does he go to?
