Browns' second-year WR continues to make noise during minicamp

The Cleveland Browns, after an offseason filled with multiple acquisitions in both free agency and the 2026 NFL Draft, will look to take a massive step on the offensive side of the ball heading into the upcoming season.

General manager Andrew Berry made it a point of emphasis to revamp the offense this offseason by signing multiple veteran offensive linemen, along with drafting Utah’s Spencer Fano and a pair of wide receivers in Texas A&M’s KC Concepcion and Washington’s Denzel Boston. And with newly-hired head coach Todd Monken taking control of the unit this season, it’s clear that the Browns could see major improvements in 2026.

However, while there are plenty of new faces on the offense, second-year wide receiver Isaiah Bond continues to make a name for himself throughout the team’s minicamp period, which could pave the way for him to have a key role on offense this year.

Bond, a once highly touted pass catcher out of Texas, signed with the organization as an UDFA following the conclusion of the 2025 NFL Draft. In his three college seasons with the Alabama Crimson Tide and the Texas Longhorns, the electric playmaker recorded 1,428 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns on 99 receptions, but struggled to find his role on offense in his final season with the Longhorns due to the emergence of teammate Matthew Golden.

Still, with low expectations heading into his rookie season, Bond managed to carve out a role on Cleveland’s offensive attack in 2025, finishing his rookie season with 338 receiving yards on 18 receptions. As the Browns’ primary deep threat last year, Bond did an excellent job of expanding the field as a rookie, with most of his success occurring with 2025 fifth-round pick Shedeur Sanders becoming the starting quarterback.

Now, with both Concepcion and Boston projected to be the main pieces of the passing game in 2026, the second-year wide receiver has not only secured a roster spot for next season but continues to push for a role on offense under Monken. Fortunately for Bond, his ability to win downfield will allow him to work as a key deep threat in Monken’s offense, while also being a big-play threat with the ball in his hands.

Depending on the development track of Concepcion and Boston, Bond could easily become the team’s third wide receiver on offense and take over veteran receiver Jerry Jeudy‘s role in the near future.
