The Brooklyn Nets had one of the craziest first rounds ever last year, when they made five first-round picks.

The 2026 NBA Draft gets underway Tuesday night, and the Nets probably won’t match that, but they’ll still be busy, and it’s still crucial to their future.

Unlike the New York Knicks, who are NBA champions, the Nets have a long way to go.

In this strong draft class, the Nets have to be thinking they can get a key piece or two for their future.

Below, we’ll keep track of what the Nets do during this draft.

These are how Sporting News grades each of the Nets’ draft picks:

  • The Nets could’ve taken another point guard, but Brown was the top one in his class, and he’s got immense upside, including the NBA’s much-needed 3-point shooting ability. The only risk here is a back injury. If Brown is healthy, he’s a star.

  • Jefferson is about as solid a ‘B’ as can be. He does a little bit of everything. He’s a sturdy frontcourt player who can also handle the ball. He had multiple triple-doubles at Iowa State, and he’ll bring talent all over the floor to the league.

• Round 2, Pick 43: Tyler Bilodeau – B-

  • A 7-foot wingspan and a 3-point shot give Bilodeau a chance to fit.
