Bronny James Says He Does Not Know Where LeBron Will Sign Next

Bronny James says he does not know where his father will play next season as LeBron James continues weighing offers from teams across the NBA.

The Los Angeles Lakers guard was approached by streamer Biggy22x and asked whether LeBron might join Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors. Bronny laughed but offered no indication that a deal was developing. 

LeBron has already informed the Lakers that he will play elsewhere during the 2026-27 season, ending his eight-year run in Los Angeles. He has not announced his next team, and agent Rich Paul says the decision will not be rushed.

The exchange began with Biggy22x asking Bronny to share an encouraging message for younger viewers. The conversation then shifted to the free agency question dominating the NBA offseason.

When the streamer asked directly whether LeBron was signing with Golden State, Bronny responded “Man, I don’t know where he’s going”. “That would be crazy if he did”, Bronny said. 

A Warriors Move Would Pair LeBron With Stephen Curry

Golden State has been repeatedly mentioned as one possible destination for LeBron. A move would place the four-time NBA champion alongside Curry after years of competing against him in the NBA Finals.

The two stars also played together for the United States at the 2024 Paris Olympics, where they helped the team win a gold medal. LeBron has longstanding relationships with Curry, Draymond Green and Warriors coach Steve Kerr.

Bronny’s description of the possibility as “crazy” reflected the scale of that pairing rather than opposition to it. Other reported possibilities include the Cleveland Cavaliers, Miami Heat and Philadelphia 76ers. None has been publicly identified by LeBron or his representatives as the favorite.

LeBron informed the Lakers on June 30 that the franchise could move forward without him because he intended to play elsewhere during his record-setting 24th NBA season.

“Truly a honor to wear the, purple and gold, while trying to continue the greatness and legacies that came before me,” LeBron wrote after the decision became public. He joined Los Angeles in 2018 and led the team to the 2020 NBA championship.

Paul said interested teams have already communicated what they can offer and do not need to make additional pitches. “We’re not going to be rushed,” Paul said on his Game Over podcast. “It’s his choice to make and when he makes the choice, he’ll make it.”

LeBron and Bronny became the first father and son to appear as NBA teammates during the 2024-25 season. Bronny remains with the Lakers while LeBron decides where he will continue his career.
