Broncos will wear throwback uniform vs. Chargers in Week 18

Time for another throwback announcement!

The Denver Broncos will wear their beautiful throwback uniform against the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 18 of the 2026 season, the team announced Tuesday. The announcement follows the news of a throwback-on-throwback matchup between the Broncos and Seattle Seahawks in Week 6.

The Broncos have started to have a theme of wearing their throwback jerseys in Week 18, wearing them the final week of the season in both 2024 and 2025. Perhaps it could be the fact that the team wants to give fans one final opportunity to see the jerseys at home before the offseason (or, hopefully, the start of the playoffs).

The Chargers become the second opponent Denver has worn their throwbacks against since the team reintroduced the Orange Crush-inspired uniforms in 2024, alongside the Las Vegas Raiders.

Below is a breakdown of how many times the Broncos have worn their throwbacks against an opponent, per gridion-uniforms.com.

throwbacks vs. any opponent

• Los Angeles Chargers (two times)
• Las Vegas Raiders (two times)
• Kansas City Chiefs (once)
• Dallas Cowboys (once)
• Seattle Seahawks (once)

Denver is allowed four alternate uniform games per year, per NFL rules. At least one of those will likely be used to wear their Midnight Navy alternates. Denver could possibly wear their throwbacks on the road (like Seattle will in Week 6). That situation could, in theory, create another gorgeous throwback-on-throwback game against the New England Patriots‘ “Pat Patriot” uniforms.
