The Denver Broncos continue to be one of the most enigmatic teams in the league. They have one of the best defensive units in the league, yet they’re consistently in close battles with teams far beneath their level. The issue, as always, has been their offense. Denver’s offense is maddeningly inconsistent, allowing teams that struggle to score against their defense a chance to come back and make the game close.
Take their game against the Seattle Seahawks tonight, for example. Statistically, the Broncos should not have won this game at all. The Denver offense reached just 168 yards this game in total. Meanwhile, Seattle was able to get 353 yards in total. This statistic is almost always an indicator that the team with far fewer yards will lose. Today, somehow, was an exception, as Andrew Mason noted.
“Tonight saw the Broncos win for the first time in club history when they failed to reach 175 total yards of offense and allowed at least 350 yards,” Mason posted on X. “Until tonight, they were 0-12 in that scenario. Since 2010, teams with that stat line were 2-109 heading into Thursday night.”

Even Denver’s defense struggled tonight against the Seahawks, missing multiple tackles and allowing big plays left and right. However, the Broncos’ defense came up clutch late in the game, picking off Sam Darnold twice (once in regulation, once in overtime). It’s great that the Broncos were able to win despite the abysmal game from their defense, but there are still a ton of issues that need to be addressed, like their offense.
