Brighton reject second Liverpool offer for Yankuba Minteh
According to Paul Joyce of The Times, Liverpool have had a second offer for Yankuba Minteh rejected by Brighton, and it remains to be seen if the Merseysiders continue their pursuit of the Gambian winger.
The 22-year-old is considered at Liverpool as a good option for the right attacking flank, though Paris Saint-Germain’s Bradley Barcola remains their primary target. Ibrahim Mbaye, also of PSG, could also arrive to Anfield before the window closes, being keen on the move and having already agreed personal terms.
Minteh is currently out of action, recovering from a surgery which followed a right-leg injury during Brighton’s pre-season, but that doesn’t seem to be putting Liverpool off the idea of acquiring his services. The first offer was said to have amounted to £50 million, and the second one was £60 million. It is believed that another one of £70 million would be enough to get the deal done, but at this point, it’s unclear if Liverpool would be willing to go that high.
Brighton boss Fabian Hurzeler was asked about the speculation around Minteh, but all he said was that the winger’s future remains uncertain.
