Brighton have announced the signing of Costinha from Olympiacos.

The 26-year-old has signed a five-year deal with the Premier League side after two seasons in Greece.

The Portuguese full-back made 49 league appearances for Olympiacos, helping them win the title in 2024-25 and the Betsson Greek Cup in the same season.

Costinha also featured seven times in Olympiacos’ Champions League campaign this season, where they reached the play-off round before being knocked out by Bayer Leverkusen.

“Costinha is a player we have followed closely for some time,” said Brighton boss Fabian Hurzeler.

“He has the defensive capabilities, intensity and understanding of what we value and we feel he will be an excellent addition to the squad.

“He is also comfortable in and out of possession of the ball and will add competition at right-back, alongside our existing options.

“I am delighted he has chosen to continue his development with us in the Premier League.”

Brighton will play in the Conference League next season after finishing eighth in the Premier League.

Costinha is Brighton’s second signing of the summer already, after they acquired promising youngster Zadok Yohanna.
