Tucker Kraft could be on track for a massive contract with the Green Bay Packers, as NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport believes his next extension could set a new standard for tight ends. Rapoport expects Kraft to become the highest paid player at his position by a significant margin.

As the season draws closer, the Packers are focused on making sure Kraft remains part of their long term plans. Green Bay general manager Brian Gutekunst has made extending the tight end a key priority, with the team looking to get a deal done before the regular season gets underway.

According to The Athletic’s Matt Schneidman, Packers general manager Gutekunst wants to get Tucker Kraft’s contract situation resolved before the regular season begins.

Green Bay is already working toward an extension for the young tight end, who has emerged as one of Jordan Love’s most important targets. Getting a deal done would allow the team to enter Week 1 without the uncertainty surrounding Kraft’s future.

Tucker Kraft’s return to full health could help push the Packers toward getting a long term contract across the finish line. After an ACL tear ended his 2025 season in Week 9, the 25 year old tight end has looked fully recovered throughout August.

The 25-year-old told the media that he is no longer dealing with a snap restriction or medical limitations, while also indicating that he and Green Bay remain on the same page about reaching an extension before the season. With Kraft healthy and ready to contribute, the Packers have even more reason to secure his future with the team.
