Milwaukee Brewers starting pitcher Brewers’ Brandon Woodruff injury update forBrandon Woodruff is hoping to return from injury for the World Series. Woodruff is recovering from a shoulder injury and it previously seemed as if he could miss the remainder of the season. The door is seemingly open for a potential Fall Classic return, though. MLB insider Jon Heyman shared the latest Woodruff injury update during an MLB Network appearance on Tuesday.

“It is possible (he could return),” Heyman said. “We had the owner of the Brewers, Mark Attanasio, on the podcast with Joel Sherman yesterday. He said it is possible that Brandon Woodruff could be back. This is really stunning… He had some surprise healing, it is amazing.”

Woodruff, 33, pitched to a 2.98 ERA in 2026, but he made only nine starts. Injuries limited him once again this season, something that has been an issue over the years. Woodruff has not appeared in more than 12 games since 2021, when he made 27 starts.

However, he is clearly healing faster than expected from his shoulder injury. Woodruff has played a significant role in the Brewers’ success over the years, and he obviously wants an opportunity to be on the World Series roster.

One has to imagine he would serve in a relief role if he is included on the roster. He likely has not had enough time to build up as a starter. Regardless of his potential role, Brandon Woodruff is a candidate to pitch in the 2026 World Series as Milwaukee looks to win its first championship in franchise history.
